Fall is officially here, and we firmly believe these cooler, autumn weekends are meant for one thing: FOOTBALL.
Whether you’re tailgating at the big game or throwing a football party at home, it’s easy to whip up a winning Wisconsin cheese board that’ll satisfy hungry appetites. Cheering for your favorite team is hard work, and Wisconsin cheese boards are the perfect, snackable fuel to keep you going through the 4th quarter. Plus, they couldn’t be easier or more fun to put together.
Here’s what you’ll need for our Classic Wisconsin Tailgating Cheese Board (bonus—it’s likely you already have some of these ingredients lingering in your refrigerator and pantry):
- Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds
- Wisconsin string cheese, cut into 1-inch pieces
- Wisconsin cold pack cheese
- Beef sticks, cut into 1-inch pieces
- Ham slices
- Baby dill pickles
- Roasted, salted peanuts
- Carrot sticks
- Celery sticks
- Ranch dressing
- Apple slices
These football-friendly finger foods are designed to complement the all-stars of this board: Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds, string cheese and cold pack cheese.
Squeaky Wisconsin cheddar cheese curds are mild, slightly salty and extra tasty paired with apples or wrapped up in a ham slice with a pickle. Or, try a chunk of Wisconsin string cheese with grapes, beef sticks or roasted peanuts. Wisconsin cold pack cheese is soft and spreadable, making it the ideal dip for pretzels, carrots, celery or apple slices. Any cold pack flavor you like will work—we’re using the port wine flavor in this spread.
Tailgating grub has never been so easy or delicious. Score!
