1. Deep Fried Cheese Curds
The love of Wisconsin cheese curds runs deep, and far beyond the borders of America’s Dairyland. Cheese fans across the country couldn’t get enough of these classic Wisconsin bites, making it our top recipe of 2016. Crisp on the outside, gooey and cheesy on the inside … what’s not to love?
2. Grilled Cheese Roll-Ups
These shareable, dippable roll-ups are a fun take on everyone’s favorite sandwich. And like the traditional version, they only require three ingredients: Wisconsin cheddar, butter and sandwich bread.
3. Black and Blue Burger
Whether griddled or grilled, classic burger flavors were big in 2016. You can’t ever go wrong with a blue cheese-topped patty. This recipe creates an easy spread of mayonnaise, sour cream and Wiscconsin blue. Spread it on your burger, and pretty much everything else.
4. Baked Jalapeño Poppper Dip
Love jalapeño poppers but don’t want to mess with making them at home? This dip recipe is here to save the day. Fresh jalapeños and, count ‘em, FOUR Wisconsin cheeses come together for creamy dip perfection. (That’s Wisconsin cheddar, mascarpone, cream cheese and parmesan if you’re counting.)
5. Beer Cheese Soup
Homemade beer cheese soup with bacon, Wisconsin cheddar and colby is a surefire way to impress your friends. Serve it in pretzel bread bowls and you’ve reached hero status.
