Over the past month, the Cheese & Burger Society has honored those willing to brave the cold for a great cheeseburger with the All Hail the Winter Griller campaign on Facebook. Visit the page to see lots of great #WinterGriller tips, grilling giveaways and – of course – cheeseburgers made with Wisconsin cheese. In case you missed it, below are three cheeseburger recipes from talented foodies that will make putting on a few layers and heading into the snow worth your while.
The Rarebit Cheeseburger, is an all Angus burger slathered in a classic three-cheese sauce using Wisconsin aged cheddar, Colby and Roth Prairie Sunset. Top that with bacon, tomato and lettuce and you have yourself a delicious, napkin-required cheeseburger.
This indulgent burger features lots of gooey Wisconsin mozzarella cheese, sweet caramelized onions, and a rich Dijon aioli all sandwiched between two grilled garlic bread buns. Add a layer of fresh tomato and arugula for crunch and to balance the creamy mozzarella.
Inspired by a Wisconsin cheese board, this cheeseburger could pass as a gourmet meal. Soft and buttery Wisconsin brie adds a creaminess to the hearty beef burger accented with sweet fig preserves, pickled red onion and crunchy spinach.
